Sara Elizabeth (McLamb) Baggett

Sara Elizabeth Baggett, 82, of 180 Southwood Drive, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, with Dr. Gary Threatt officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Sara, born in Sampson County in 1935, was the daughter of the late William Estel McLamb and Katie Beaman McLamb.  She was a jeweler and co-owner of Baggett’s Jewelry.   She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a former member of NC  Jewelers Association.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wright Baggett; step-son, Ernest Wright Baggett, Jr.; step-daughter, Mary Wright Baggett; and brother, Colonel Wayne McLamb.

Survivors include; son, Bill Baggett and wife Patty; step-daughter, Jackie Baggett Wilbourne and husband Billy; grandchildren, Jacob Baggett and Emily Baggett; step-grandchildren, Scott Wilbourne, Jennifer Wilbourne, Derrick Baggett, Jeremy Baggett and Carmen Baggett; stepson, Ernest Wright Baggett, Jr. and wife Janet; sister, Billie Jo Walke and husband Harold; niece Anna Walke Ragan;  sister-in-law, Martha McLamb; and devoted caregiver, Dorothy Scrivner.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, and at other times as the home of her son, at 107 Candlestick Court, Clinton, NC  28328.

The family would like to thank the staff at Southwood Rehabilitation Center and Sampson Regional Medical Center for all the care and comfort shown to Mrs. Baggett.
