Kevin was a remarkable young man whilst serving about the USS Bergall SSN 667. His contributions to the crew and that of the sonar division were in the highest traditions of the US Navy. Kevin served with distinction, demonstrating superior knowledge of the AN/BQQ-5 Sonar Suite and as a superb Sonar Supervisor.
I had the distinct honor of serving with Kevin and considered him a compassionate sailor that took time to mentor others and unselfishly share his knowledge. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled as a person of genuine character that served as an example of the best in all of us.
There is a port of no return, where ships
May ride at anchor for a little space
And then, some starless night the cable slips,
Leaving an eddy at the mooring place...
Gulls, veer no longer. Sailor, rest your oar.
No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore.
With Condolences,
Ron Mueller
