Mary Annette (Holland) Gurganus

Mary Annette Gurganus, 60, of 441 Parker Memorial Road, passed away Tues.,

 Feb. 2nd, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Friday, February 5th, at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Jacobs, Rev. Dr. Randy Simmons and Pastor Terry Cummings officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Annette, born in Sampson County in 1955, was the daughter of the late William Owen Holland and Mary Alene Bass Holland.  She was a cafeteria worker with the city school system and worked at the Waffle Kitchen in Clinton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Owen Holland. 

Survivors include her husband of nineteen years, Lester Dallas Gurganus; daughter, Donna Renae Jacobs; granddaughter, Idalis Alene Jacobs;  sister Linda Faye Faircloth; nephew, Tyler Rivera Jacobs; and nieces, Dana Ammons, Crystal Jacobs and Savannah Rivera Jacobs.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday, February 4th  at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
