I'm so sorry I could not be there to say good-bye to Doris. I was her secretary at FTCC for 3 years and I had so much fun with her and Mary Knutson. I have so many great memories of them and all my counselors working there. I was proud to be their first secretary. Every time I hear myself say "Good, fine, nice" I think of Doris. She was a wonderful friend and I'm sure with her photographic memory restored in heaven, she is giving the angels a run for their money! Love you Doris!

Doris and I became close friends when we taught together at Trinity High School and remained good friends for years after she moved to Clinton. After her parents passed and she no longer came to High Point regularly, we just lost contact with each other. We shared many laughs and many good times together. She was trustworthy, honest, inspiring and so much more. Even though we had not seen each other in years, I am right now feeling a great sense of loss with her passing. I can only imagine how her family is feeling, and I send them my heartfelt condolences and prayers. Doris was truly one of a kind!

Houston, I am so very sorry that you have had to say good-bye to your sweet Doris. She brought quite a bit of light & joy to all of us at the Alpha Phi Sorority House in college. I am proud to have called her my Sister in Alpha Phi.

Doris was a wonderful lady. She was a friend to me and my late husband Danny when they both taught at Clinton high school during the mid 70's. RIP lady.
