Clinton:

Mr. Walter B. Bryant, 95, of Clinton, died Sunday, February 7, 2016.

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Smith officiating.  Burial will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

Mr. Bryant, a native of Sampson County was the son of the late Roscoe and Althia Spell Bryant.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Magaline Taylor Bryant and step daughter Susan Hainey.  A Veteran of the US Army, Mr. Bryant served in WWII and was a lifelong member of VFW Post #7547. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Bryant was a truck driver for Conagra.  He was preceded in death by sisters, Marie, Myrtle, Janie and Ethel; and brothers, Clarence and Edmund.

Surviving are: his wife, Edith H. Bryant, of the home

                   Daughter; Betty Jean Avery and husband Bobby of Clinton

                  Son: Walter Ray Bryant and wife Shelia of Clinton

                  Grandchildren: Eugene Hicks and wife April of Clinton

                                             Charles Hicks and wife Jenna of Texas

                                             Samantha Pritchard and Chris of Autryville

                                             Adam Bryant of Garland

                 Great-Grandchildren: Alyssa Davis and husband Owen of Rose Hill

                                                            Katie Hicks of Chapel Hill

                                                            Carter Hicks of TX

                                                            Charlotte Hicks of TX

                                                            Cameron Bryant of Autryville

             Great –great-grandson: Aiden Davis of Rose Hill

               Step Children: Paul Hainey and wife Frances of GA

                                             Linda Thomas and husband David of Calif.

                                             Ray Hainey and wife Dawn of Md.

                                             Kathy Lee and husband Jeff of Castle Hayne, NC

               One brother: R.B. Bryant and wife Janet of Miss.

Several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas,  66675.

3 years, 8 months and 13 days.

 The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville Street, Clinton, NC.
