James Leonard Hope, 73, of 6990 Garland Hwy, passed away Friday, July 1, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Monday, July 4th, at Serenity Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Flowers officiating. Interment is to follow in the Grandview Memorial Park.
James born in 1942 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Walter “Dick” James Hope and Katie Lou Turner Hope. He was a farmer. James was preceded in death by a daughter,
Shelia H. Coombs, and a sister, Frances H. Butler.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Lila R. Hope; sons, James Michael Hope and friend Susan R. Dunne, and Bobby Hope and wife Connie; son-in-law, Alan O’Neal; grandchildren, Dwayne Hope, Beth Hope Johnson and husband Jason Johnson, Cody Coombs and fiancé Rachel, Michaela Coombs, Katelyn O’neal, Dylan Hope, Ethan Hope and Allison Hope; sisters, Ruby Myers, Alice Puryear and husband Robert, Louise Benton and Gail Carter and husband Ray; brother, Sam Hope and wife Lois; and special sister-in-law Brenda Hope.
The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., Sunday, July 3rd at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville Street, Clinton, NC 28328 and at other times at the home.
