Jacqueline Tew Avery, 63, of 409 Henry Vann Farm Road, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Old Mill Church of God in Roseboro, with the Reverend Jimmy Honeycutt officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Jacqueline, born in 1953 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Martin Randolph Tew and Louise Jordan Tew.  She worked in shipping in the textile industry.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister,  Ruby Jean Hatcher; brothers; Thomas Otto Tew, James Martin Tew, Richard Henry Tew and Victor Ray Tew.

Survivors include her husband of over forty years, Willie Gilbert Avery; sons, Willie Jason Avery and wife Kerry of Godwin, and Johnathan Ashley Avery and wife Heather of Four Oaks; grandchildren; John Clark, Kerry Lynn Avery, Junior Avery, Ashley Avery, Austin Avery and Tabitha Avery; sister, Peggy Brewington, Deborah Weeks, Jeanette Tew and Shelia Tew.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Friday, August 12, 2016 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, NC  28328 and at the home of her sister Peggy Brewington at 464 Brewington Road, Clinton, NC  28328.
