Gary Benton McLamb, 84, of 505 Elizabeth St., passed away, Monday, May 10th at UNC Healthcare in Chapel Hill.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, May 13th at First Baptist Church with the Reverend Ray Ammons officiating.  Interment will be at the Clinton City Cemetery.

Gary, born in 1931 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Luke Mortis McLamb and Estelle Jones McLamb.  He was a letter carrier with the U S Postal service and an Army Veteran.   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Jordan McLamb; and daughters, Lisa Yvette McLamb and Donna Marie McLamb.

Survivors include sons; Ritchie McLamb and wife Janet of Raleigh, and Stephen McLamb and wife Trish of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Caitlin McLamb, Lucas McLamb, Brandon Wiggins and Neal Wiggins; great-grandchild, Oliver Wiggins;  brother, Bruce McLamb of Clinton;  and sister-in-law, Francis Ward.

The family will receive friends, Friday, May 13th from 1 P.M. – 2 P.M., one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, NC  28328.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (designate Breast Cancer), 2202 Wrightsville Ave., Suite 111, Wilmington, NC  28403.
