Eddie Shaw Hines, 75, of 205 Beaver Dam Drive, passed away Tuesday, July 5th at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 4 P.M., Thursday, July 7, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Daniel Cenci officiating.  Interment with military honors is to follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.  Friends will be received from 3 P.M. until 4 P.M., at the church just prior to the service.

Eddie, born in 1941 in Cumberland County, was the son of the late William David Hines and Lela Bradshaw Hines.  He was a graduate of UNC, Chapel Hill and was a retired English instructor at Sampson Community College.

Survivors are cousins, Jean Sutton, Sederis Rhodes and Macie Whitfield; lifelong friend Janice Thompson; and his five sister-wives, Jan Tart, Carole Phipps, Melissa Ezzell, Susan Jernigan, and Laura Carraway.

Memorials may be made to the SCC (Sampson Community College) Foundation, at PO Box 318, Clinton, NC  28329.
