Willie Melvin Shipp

Mr. Willie Melvin Shipp, 85, of Clinton, passed away March 12th at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A funeral service will be held 6:00 PM, Friday, March 15th, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan and Pastor Lynn Blackburn officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held 10:00AM Saturday, March 16th, at Plainview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Willie, a native of Sampson Co. was the son of the late Steven Bernice Shipp and Katie Bell Shipp. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Katie Darlene Pope, grandchild, Mackenzie Herring, brothers and sisters: Marvin Shipp, Steven Shipp, Maylon Shipp, Louise Willis, Helen Waller, Rose Strickland, and Mildred Raynor. Willie was a produce farmer and also worked many years with Spivey Lewis and Jackie Hobbs Electric.

Willie is survived his children: Donna Jo Shipp, Sharon Day Shipp Herring (Freddie), Janet Renee Shipp Herring, Melvin Todd Shipp(Karen) and Dustin McCullen (Ashley) , grandchildren: Daphne Lorraine Melvin (Tim), Logan Renee Herring, Patrick Shipp, Mikayla Shipp, great-grandchilden: Zack Melvin and Gabe Melvin.

The family will receive friends other times at the home of his daughter, 760 Murphy Rd. Clinton, NC 28328.
