Willie Dee Hunter, 77, of 229 E Darden Road passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, March 16th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM, just before the service at the funeral home.
Willie was born October 29, 1944 in Sampson County to the late Lynn Huckabee Hunter and Lucy Rena Honrine Hunter. He was a truck driver, veteran of the US Navy and a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Carl Edward Hunter and Victor Lynnon Hunter and grandson Robert Matthew Walker.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Katherine Tucker Hunter; sisters, Edna Kay Lee Hunter Pate and Helen Irene Hunter Bass; children, Keith Dewayne Hunter, Belinda Irene Boney, Stephanie Dawn Hunter, Tammy Ann Riley, Michele Kern and husband Darren, Kevin Rivenbark and wife Paula and Tonya Renee Calagis and husband David; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
