William “Coby” Lee Fortner, 75, of 1140 Bellwoods Road, Clinton, passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2021 at his home.

Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Randy Simmons officiating.  There will be a walk-through viewing 10 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.  The family will be receiving friends at the home.

Coby, born October 30, 1945 in Sampson County, was the son of the late James Wright Fortner and Margaret Lane Fortner.  He was a truckdriver with Murphy Brown and owned and operated William Fortner Trailer Park.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Wesley Fortner.

Survivors include; daughter, Jennifer Lee Fortner; grandchildren, Mirah Fortner, Alexia Fortner, and Ariel Fortner; brother, Robert Fortner (Sue); nephew, Timothy Fortner; Jimmy Ray Emmanuel (Michelle),  who Coby loved like his own; and good friend, Stelphine Artis Swinson.
