Reverend William Lloyd “Bill” West, 67, of 104 N. Bizzell Drive, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, December 16, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Clinton, NC, with Rev. Will Matthews officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.  Interment will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park in Charleston, WV with date to be determined. 

Bill, born May 8, 1956, in Charleston, WV, was the son of the late Wilbur Clinton West and Betty Jane Miller West.  Bill graduated from Charleston High School in 1974, Marshall University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC with a Master’s of Divinity.  He received the Eagle Scout Award in 1972 and was a high school drum major 1973-1974.  He pastored several churches over 40 years in Wake, Sampson and Johnston Counties.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Jean and Abe Westfall.

Survivors include; wife, Karen Westfall West; brother, David West (Cindy) of Brentwood, TN; sister-in-law, Kathy Hudson of Ravenswood, WV; sister-cousin, Sue and Jim Grimes of South Charleston, WV and Brenda Arthur of South Charleston, WV; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
