William Henry Thornton, 80, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Southwood Nursing Center.

Memorial service will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, October 29th at 4 PM at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Pierce officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his son Ronnie, at 5164 Church Road, Newton Grove.

Henry, born September 15, 1943 in Nash County, was the son of the late Eugene Thornton and Bertha Perry Thornton.  He was a famer and a mechanic.  He was a member of Roanoke Chapel Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Willie Thornton, Bobby Thornton and Allen Thornton.

Survivors include: children, Angie Bass and husband Gary, Ronnie Thornton and wife Michelle, Pam Monk, Cindy Raynor and husband Christopher and Ginger Thornton; grandchildren, Brooke Keen and husband Matthew, Nick Monk, Carlie Sinclair and husband Tyler, Hannah Bullins and husband Weston, William Eldridge, Zack Thornton and wife Makaylah, Dani Braun and husband Tyler, Mason Monk, Skyler Thornton, Caleb Weeks, Andrew Eldridge, Gracyn Baggett, Will Baggett and Blaire Baggett; and seven great-grandchildren.
