William Derrell Uribe, of Surf City completed his earthly journey September 21, 2024.

Derrell was born in Wake County October 2, 1952 to Luis Uribe and Annie Ruth Norris Hurley.  He was raised by his grandparents, Noah and Gladys Norris.  After graduating from Union High School, Derrell served in the US Army and the Army NC National Guard Company B First Battalion 252nd Roseboro, NC. He retired from Carolina Telephone.

He is survived by his children, Corey Gail Strickland (Jeremy) and Richard Darrell Uribe (Hanna), five grandchildren, two sisters, Janice Allen and Patricia Faircloth.

A private service will be held.
