Wilburn Keith Jones, 92, of 118 Ellis St., passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, February 5th at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Ameen officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.   Interment with VFW honors will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton Grove, NC.

Wilburn, born February 17, 1929 in Sampson County, was the son of the late James W. Jones and Grace Phillips Jones.  He retired from Smithfield Packing as an electrician.  He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  Wilburn was a US Army Veteran having served in the US Army after WW II in Germany.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Fann Jones and siblings, Florence Hawkins Jones, Frank Jones, James Edwin Jones, Donald Jones, Joel Jones, Willie Majorie Wilkerson, and stepson, John McKenzie.

Survivors include: son, Keith Jones and wife Leanne; stepson, Jamie McKenzie and wife Gena; step-daughter, Jackie Jordan and husband Glenn; grandchildren, Kelsey Brinkley (Austin), Jamie Jones, Joel Jones, Kaitlin Jones (Terry), Blair McKenzie, Sarah Thorne (Tristen), Dylan Jordan, and Garrett Jordan; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Geraldine Campbell and Bernard “Bernie” Jones and wife Phyllis.

Memorials may be made to the VFW, PO Box 941, Clinton, NC  28329, Immanuel Baptist Church, PO Box 52, Clinton, NC  28329 or to the charity of one’s choice.
