Clinton,
Mr. Wayne Nelson Tyndall, 88 of Clinton, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, May 2, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on March 26, 1937 to Fred and Alene Warren Tyndall.
He was married to Ruth Ranae Royal Tyndall for 38 years until her death in 1999. They spent much time enjoying the beautiful mountains of NC and TN. They loved vacations to the mountains where they embraced the scenic nature God created. After she passed, he later married Marie Tyner Tyndall. They watched her grandchildren grow up helping to get them to and from school. Spending summers with them and watching them play ball. They enjoyed 21 years together until she passed in 2024.
Nelson was a long-time member of the Gideon organization and a member of Owen Grove Church and Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard Reserve for several years, was a farmer and was a former owner of the mechanic shop, Harvey’s in Clinton. He spent many days working alongside Randy and Ryan with T&H Contracting, LLC.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by siblings, Sis Herring of Charleston, SC, Della Barber, Otha Wise Hudson and Archie Tyndall all of Clinton. Survivors include sister Betsy Varna Nunamaker Munsey of Fayetteville, stepchildren, Connie Pearson (Mark), Ronnie Tyner (Betsy), and Danny Tyner (Betty Jo) and numerous nieces and nephews. Nelson had many family members that loved him, he was closest to Archie’s family being they all lived nearby, Randy, Tony and LaRue along with their spouses spent many days and nights making sure he was comfortable and taken care of.
While Nelson had no biological children, Randy was like one of his own. Randy grew up riding the tractor as an infant with him, even taking a nap on the ground at the end of the rows. When he got a little older, he was driving tractors helping him farm as young as five years old. While we will all miss him, he is no longer suffering.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Brenda Tatum, Jodie Branch and Amanda Davis for their help with Nelson as his health declined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, The Gideon’s International, PO Box 1810, Clinton, NC 28329.
