Walter J Dean “Pete” Westbrook, 85, of 2704 Basstown Road, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his home.

Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 25th at Grandview Memorial Garden with Rev. Chubby Reiber officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the graveside and at other times at the home.  A walk-through viewing will be held from 12 PM – 6 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Born in 1935, Mr. Westbrook was the son of the late Walter and Maggie Bass Westbrook.  He was a member of Plainview Free Will Baptist Church, a Veteran of the US Army and retired with 30 years with the Dept. of Transportation in Sampson County.  In his retirement he enjoyed refurbishing farm equipment. 

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Geraldine Puryear Westbrook, one daughter Cynthia Westbrook Jones and husband Gregg of LaGrange, one grandson Bradley Dean Sessoms of Roseboro, one granddaughter Taylor Brook Sessoms Kelley and husband Steven, and one great-grandson Korbin Ray Kelley of Autryville.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Plainview PFW Baptist Church, PO Box 1261, Clinton, NC  28329.
