Vincent "Vince" Edwin Talley Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Vincent “Vince” Edwin Talley, 53, who went peacefully to be with the Lord with his loving wife of 9 years by his side on January 24, 2025.  Vince was born February 6, 1971, in South Boston, VA.  He was a loving husband, proud father, and dear friend who left a mark on the lives of all who knew him.

Vince was a man of deep faith, and throughout his life, he leaned on God’s promises, particularly the words of Jeremiah 29:11, which he held close to his heart.  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”  These words became his guiding light as he fought a courageous battle with cancer.  With incredible strength, dignity, and an unwavering faith, Vince faced his illness as he did everything else in life – with courage and hope.  His example of grace through suffering was a testament to the depth of his belief in God’s plan.

Vince’s greatest joy in life was with his family.  As a devoted husband to Kelly and a proud father to Laney, Brycen and Kyle Talley and Maggie and Gracie Honeycutt.  Vince is survived by his father, Pete Talley, his mother Fran Martin, his sister Elizabeth Talley and his aunt Pattie Pooh Talley, his mother and father-in-law, Tony and Debbie Brewer, brother and sister-in-law Don & Casey Britt, nieces Samantha and Katie and nephew Brewer.  Vince’s love for his family knew no bounds and he made sure his family knew how much they meant to him.

Outside of his family, Vince had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting.  Vince found peace in nature, often surrounded by his friends and children.  He cherished the relationships he built with his friends who were like family and fondly nicknamed him “Tarheel”.

Retiring from UPS after many years of dedicated service, Vince made lasting relationships with people from all walks of life.  His route wasn’t just a job – it was an opportunity to connect with others, to brighten their day with his warm smile and kind words.  His legacy is not only in the miles he drove but in the many lives he touched with his generosity, humor and compassion and a smile that would light up a room.

Vince leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and friendship that will never be forgotten.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.  Though his presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of Vince’s life will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2 PM at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at his home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 3790 Faison Hwy., Clinton NC 28328.

Rest in peace, Vince.  Your love, strength and unwavering faith have left a lasting impression on all of us.  You will always be remembered and deeply missed.
