Vernon Glen Jones, 51, of 2370 Ozzie Road, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Wake Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 2 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2015, Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Grist, Rev. Tim Ameen and Rev. Allen Overton officiating.   Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Glen, born in Sampson County in 1963, was the son of Vernon Claude Jones, Jr. and Shirley Jean Carter Jones.  He was the co-owner of BVJ Construction Co., Inc.  He was an avid scuba diver, hunter and fisherman.  He loved children and enjoyed working with children.  He was a former R. A. Leader at Immanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his sons, Joshua Jones, Jeremy Jones and Justin Jones; brother, John Jones and wife Emma of Clinton; and niece, Kiley Jones of Clinton.

The family will receive friends at 1 P.M., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 one hour prior to the service at Epworth United Methodist Church.
