Tonya Marie (Chavers) Parker Obituary

Tonya Marie Parker, 67, of 310 Lisbon Street, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at Duke University Hospital.

Tonya was born December 8, 1957, in Pensacola, Florida but lived in Sampson County, North Carolina for over 30 years. She was the daughter of James Steven Chavers and Kathryn Emogene Littles, and the granddaughter of Louise and Marlin Littles.

Tonya had a passion for scrapbooking, bird feeding, reading, and gardening. But when asked what she was most passionate about in life, her response was always the same: her children and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, Tonya was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Cash.

Tonya is survived by her brothers, Steven Cash (Debbie), and Rodney Cash; her children, Elaina Kurtz (Jeremy), Michael Hedaria, Nicole Williamson (JD), and Jonathan Parker; five grandchildren, Melanie Naylor, Jolene Kurtz, Cooper Williamson, Evan Kurtz, and Walker Williamson; special bonus children, Miranda, Braston, and Banks Autry; and numerous other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM, Monday, May12th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the National Park Foundation in memory of Tonya, whose love for nature and wildlife brought her peace and joy.    bit.ly/TParkerNPF
