Ted B. Herring, Sr., 85, of 111 Colonial Drive, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, October 11th at Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Jernigan officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.

Ted, born January 18, 1939 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Theodore Herring and Olive Herring.  He was the owner and operator of Herring Brothers Service Center.  He was a member of Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Christine Herring, son George Herring, sister Joy Byrd and brothers Jimmy Herring and Dwight Herring.

Survivors include: children, Terry Herring, Ted Herring, Jr. and wife Lonie, Sue Gay and husband Hank, Judy Horine, Janet Burley and husband Donald; brother, Dennis Herring of Dunn; grandchildren, Alex Fagan and husband Sean, Aubrea Stanley and husband Justin, George Herring, Olivia Pauley and husband Cole, Jesse Horine, Warren Gay and wife Michala, Amanda Horine and Britton Burley; and great-grandchildren, Casen Stanley and Ava Stanley.
