Soronia was born on January 8, 1931, in Clinton, North Carolina to the late Jasper and Clydia Rains. She was a member of the Coharie Tribe, and a dedicated member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she demonstrated her commitment by teaching the Children's Sunday School class.
Soronia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Brewington, sisters Sudie Bryant, Ophelia Jacobs, Mabel Goins, Maxine Bryant, and Geraldine Rains. She was the beloved mother to Johnny Brewington (Delsey), Vanessa “Van” (Brewington) Manuel, and Billy Brewington (Lisa), a cherished grandmother to Shannon Brewington, Brandy (Manuel) Jones, Candice (Brewington) Moore (Robert), Bradley Brewington (Barbara), and Kimberly Brewington, and adored by her great grandchildren Joshua Brewington, Makya Brewington, Cayden Brewington, Raynah Jones, Braycee Gibbs, Tylan Nunez, Rayden Nunez, Ryelin Nunez, Kylie Moore, and Briggs Brewington.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of three children, two daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, one brother, countless relatives, and lifelong friends. Bae’s memory will live on in the many lives she touched through her generosity, devotion, unwavering kindness, and countless words of wisdom.
