Sheri Susan Matthis Peterson passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Duke Hospital in Durham, NC.

 A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Mt Gilead Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Lynn Bullock, officiating.  Family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Interment will be private.

Sheri was born December 20, 1966 in Sampson County to Ann Parker Matthis and the late Charles Lee Matthis.  Sheri was a long-time employee of Prestage Farms and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. 

Sheri is survived by her husband, Ken Peterson, her mother Ann Parker Matthis and a brother, Phillip Matthis.  She is also survived by her Mother and Father in-law, Ronald and Linda Peterson, Brother in-laws, Kris Peterson (Courtney) and Kevin Peterson, along with niece and nephews, Kenlee, Wade, William Peterson, Brandon and Bobby Matthis.
