Sharon May Steele Hunter, 78, of 219 Prong Road, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at her home.


A visitation will be held from 3 PM – 5 PM, Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.


Sharon, born May 22, 1947, in South Dakota, was the daughter of the late Harold Carney Steele and Evelyn Maxine Hermanek Steele.  She retired from Walmart after 20 years of service.  Sharon attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Clinton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Ray Hunter and siblings Harold Clayton Steele and Linda Steele.


Survivors include: her children, Keith DeWayne Hunter (Nancy), Belinda Irene Hunter (John), Stephanie Dawn Hunter and Ross Ray Hunter (Charli); grandchildren, Bryn, Bella, Braxton and Dallas; siblings, twin sister Karon Kocer, Clayton Steele, Janet Schulte, Valerie Hildebrand, and Kenny Steele.
