Sara Savage Obituary

Sara Butler Savage passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 26.

Sara was born on October 14, 1940 to Hugh and Effie Butler of Clinton, NC.

After graduating from Sampson high school in 1958, she attended Campbell College in Buies Creek, NC. She moved to Wilmington in 1960 where she worked at the Wilmington Morning Star until retiring to begin raising a family a short time later.

Sara will forever be remembered for her hearty and uninhibited laugh, through which she brought joy to many.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Newton; her son, Hugh Brinson; her grandson, Trevor Newton; her granddaughter, Bailey Brinson; and her sister, Patricia Lassiter.
