Samuel “Sam” Joseph Hope, 78, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, July 29th at Serenity Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Carter, Rev. Raeford Carter, Rev. Jimmy Flowers and Mrs. Judy Naylor officiating. Entombment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Sam, born June 26, 1946 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Walter “Dick” James Hope and Katie Lou Turner Hope. He was owner and operator of Sam Hope Farms and Hope Farming, Inc. in Clinton. He was a member of Serenity Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings James Hope, Louise Benton and Frances Butler.
Survivors include: wife, Lois T. Hope; children, Sue King and husband Anthony, Johnny Hope and wife Sabrinna and Michelle Weeks and husband John; step-daughter, Susan Smith; sisters, Ruby Myers, Alice Puryear and husband Robert and Gail Carter and husband Ray; grandchildren, Blake King (Jenna), Brenna King, Morgan King, Johnna Hope, John Hope, Heather Pope (Kaleb), Hope Hudson (Pelmon), Cullen Cottle, Luke Weeks and Haiden Smith; great-grandchildren, Aly Bre Pope, Laura Blake King and Reynolds King.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Serenity Baptist Church, 8994 Garland Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.
