Sammy Wayne Vann, 69, of 119 Henry Vann Farm Road, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 30th at Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Charles Gentry and Rev. Chris Butler officiating.  Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church in the fellowship hall.

Sammy, born June 27, 1953 in Sampson County, was the son of Iris Airlene Burgess Vann and Elliott Lloyd “Sam” Vann.  He was an Operations Supervisor with Lundys, Watkins Motorlines and FedEx National.  He was a 1971 graduate of Midway High School.  Sammy loved to work in his yard and took pride in its appearance. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife Frankie Carroll Vann.  He was a big Carolina fan and a member of Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his daughters Christie Vann and husband Chad Merrell of Raleigh and Cheri Grimes and husband Ashley of Faison, father Sam Vann and wife Linda,  sister Judy Weavil and husband Mark, and special dog Roxie.
