Sallie Doris Dixon Kennedy Cottle, 88, of 2063 Summerhill Road, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Wake Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, March 10th at Grandview Memorial Garden with the Rev. Dennis Guy officiating. There will be a walk-through viewing from 9 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday, March 9th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Doris, who was born February 3, 1933 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late James Daniel Dixon and Sallie Mae Flynn Dixon. She retired from Lundy Packing Company and was a member of Turkey Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Eldridge “Sam” Kennedy and Clyde Johnson Cottle, Jr. along with siblings Minnie Lee Lockamy, Janie Honeycutt, Leburn Dixon and Helen Matthis.
Survivors include; daughters, Gloria Phipps (Billy), Shelia Bryant (Ray) and Renee Hunter; grandchildren, Denise Langston, William Phipps, Michael Paul Phipps, Samantha Bryant, Adam Bryant, Olivia Hunter, Natalie Hunter and Gavin Hunter; great-grandchildren, Cody Langston, Will Langston, Lizzie Phipps, Tyler Phipps, Sam Phipps, Grace Phipps, and Cameron Bryant; and great-great grandchild, Trevor Langston.
