Rosalind Marie (Weeks) Edwards

Mrs. Rosalind Marie (Weeks) Edwards, 86, of 805 Carr Church Rd. Clinton, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

Born on September 2, 1939, in Sampson Co., Rosalind was the daughter of the late Robert Glen Weeks and Maggie Bass Weeks.  After graduating from the first class at Hobbton High School, Rosalind went on to study nursing at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital.  She enjoyed her time serving patients at both Clinton and Newton Grove Medical Clinics.  Rosalind was a member of the Sampson County Historical Society and also a former devoted Sunday school teacher.

Rosalind is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leslie Mack Edwards, her two daughters; Lisa Marie Edwards, Rita Edwards Barefoot and husband Jay; her three grandchildren: Ezekiel “Zeke” Barefoot and wife Anna Scott, Maggie Jade Barefoot, Ava Isabelle Barefoot; her brother Tony Weeks and wife Connie and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Cindy Renee Edwards and sister, Joyce Cashwell.

Rosalind had a sweet “servant heart” and nurturing spirit that will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Keener Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Vale and Rev. Dr. Penny Ziemer officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Newton Grove, NC. The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 PM the day of the service at the church and other times at the home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Keener Methodist Church, in care of June Thigpen, 3480 King Rd., Clinton, NC  28328.Condolences can be made to the family online at www.crumpler-honeycutt.com .
