Robert Arin Beard, Jr., “Bobby”, 68, was a cherished individual known for his big heart and his magnetic presence.  He was kind, loving and had a humorous personality.  Bobby was born in Sanford, NC on January 28, 1957, and went to be with his Lord on May 26, 2025.  He passed away peacefully in his home with his wife, daughter and dog Trigger by his side.

Bobby struggled with Acute Myeloid Leukemia for four years and had a bone marrow transplant.  He faced his journey with courage and great faith. 

He attended New Hanover High School and was very active in sports.  Bobby was #37 and the pitcher in baseball and #11 and the quarterback on the football team.  He attended Louisburg College.

Bobby chased his love for the outdoors through adventures on the ocean deep sea fishing, camping in the RV, biking, grilling outdoors, a love he shared with everyone around him.

Bobby’s parents were the late Robert Arin and Patricia Ann Lasater Beard.  He was the grandson of the late Earl and Louis Thomas Lasater and Jack and Myrtle Beard, all of Harnett County.

Left with years of precious memories are; his beloved wife, Jenny Gayle Reynolds Beard of Clinton; children, Caleb Thornton and wife Cameron, Eliza Carr and Sadie all of Morehead City, NC,  Ann Bostic Thornton and Estella Rose all of Clinton; brother, Steve Beard of Yadkinville, NC; cousins, Tommy Shaw and wife Mary Anna of Bunnlevel, NC, Billy Lasater, and Cindy Lasater and husband Craig Buchanan all of Broadway, NC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, June 1st at Clinton City Cemetery, 103 Raiford Street, Clinton, NC.

A special thank you to Lee Bowden from the UK for donating his cells to allow Bobby three more years of life.  To SMOC of Clinton, The BMT Unit at UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Matt Foster and Dr. Katherine Jamieson.  Also, a special thank you to Liberty Hospice of Clinton for your amazing end of life care.  A big shout out to Bobby’s CNA Jessica who was here everyday and truly became our precious friend.
