Raymond Jackie Byrd, 87, of 510B West Elizabeth St. Clinton, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro.

A Graveside Service for Jackie will be Friday, May 29, 2026, at 11 AM, at the Spell-Tyndall Cemetery with Pastor Lynn Blackburn, officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Jackie was the son of the late Henry Byrd and Victoria Beasley Barefoot and was retired from Clinton City Schools where he worked with the maintenance department.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Annette Jackson, Stepfather Thad Barefoot, his brother Jerry Byrd, and sisters, Wilma Foss and Linda Byrd and his nephew, Michael Byrd.

Left to cherish his memory are his nieces, Shelia Byrd Owens (Shelton), Vickie Mangum and Dawn Foss, nephew Wayne Byrd (Christine) and sister-in-law Edna Byrd.
