Peggy Jean Faircloth Cannady, 87, of 744 Ocracoke Drive, formerly of Roseboro, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 17th at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Peggy, born August 23, 1936 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Paul Edwin Faircloth and Hazel Rebecca Smith Faircloth. She was a salesperson for Butler Gifts and Leder Brothers Department Store. Peggy was a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Robert “J. R.” Cannady.
Survivors include; daughter, Lynn C. Carrothers and husband Eddie of Wilmington; grandsons, Hunter Nethercutt (Megan) and Collin Nethercutt (Erica); great-grandchildren, Hudson Nethercutt and Palmer Nethercutt; brother-in-law, Thomas Cannady; sisters-in-law, Joyce Lucas and Sue Barefoot and husband Nathan; and many nieces and nephews.
