Paul Douglas “Doug” King, 85, of 5787 Faison Hwy., passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at his home.

A Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 19th at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Hairr officiating.  Interment will follow in the Barber Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Doug, born December 19, 1937 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Arthur King and Pauline Elizabeth Wilson King.  He was a farmer and attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy “Dot” Barber King and siblings Elizabeth “Snuke” Honeycutt  and Pete King. 

Survivors include: sons, Christopher King and wife Toni of Rose Hill and Adam King and wife Faye King of Clinton; special niece, Sandy Minnich of Hampstead; grandchildren, Jessica King Blanck (Lucas), Tara King, Tyler King, Brittany Febres (Kristen Hayes-Febres), Jenna King Williams (Michael) and Abby King; great-grandchildren, Chasen Guy, Rivers Wrenn, Anna Wrenn, Gabriel Blanck, Levi Powell, McKaylynn Powell, Dakota Powell, Michael Williams and Kelley Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 3790 Faison Hwy., Clinton, NC  28328.
