Patricia Jones Mathis, 70, of 2197 S NC 903 Hwy, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at Kenansville Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, October 18th at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. John Quinn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery in Newton Grove.

Patricia, born December 29, 1952 in Durham County, was the daughter of the late Aaron Fulton Jones and Addie Bell Tart Jones.  She was a caretaker.  She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lee Woodcock, Jr.

Survivors include: husband of fifteen years, Ivey “Buck” Matthis; son, William Robert Woodcock and wife Terri; daughters, Tammy Annette Simmons, Peggy Sue Chestnutt and husband Mike, and Joan Gail Nicholson and husband Matt; sister, Sandra Gail Jones; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
