PAMELA ANN NORRIS GRIFFIN of Pinehurst, North Carolina passed away peacefully on 4th day of July 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 23, 1954, in Clinton, North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Paul Ransom Norris and Grace Jones Norris.

Pam, a devoted wife who shared 50 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gregory “Greg” Griffin, building together a foundation upon Christian beliefs of love, faith, family and cherished memories.  She loved to travel and was up for an adventure. She loved her trip to the Holy Lands where she stated that the Bible now appeared in “ Living Color”.

As a Mother, she was a constant source of encouragement, wisdom, and warmth.  She leaves behind a legacy of love for her two children and their spouses: son, Bryan Paul Griffin and his wife, Elizabeth S. Griffin; and daughter, Emily Claire Griffin Greene and her husband, Douglas G. Greene.  She was very proud of each of them individually and as couples for what they accomplished as parents raising her five beautiful grandchildren in the church.

As a Grandmother, she was called “Amma” by her five (5) grandchildren; Hudson Paul Griffin, William Hayes Griffin, Mark Thomas Greene, Grace Ann Greene and Mary Katherine Greene.  One of the greatest roles in her life was being “Amma”.  She was always making her grandchildren feel deeply loved and supported in their life events.  She often stated; “Love is not divided by the number of grandchildren, rather Love multiples”.  She made the best (award winning) hot banana pudding, spaghetti, rice and corn casseroles.  

Pam is survived by her brother, Paul Douglas Norris and wife Cheryl; their children and grandchildren.  She is also survived by her father-in-law, Everett T. Griffin and mother-in-law Helen C. Griffin, sisters-in-law, Margaret Griffin, Diane Griffin West, brother-in-law, Bruce Griffin and his wife Alesa.  There are several nieces and nephews that affectionately called her “Aunt Pam” and she loved all of them.   

Pam was a member of First Methodist Church of Clinton, North Carolina and served in various roles.  She and Diane Johnson, co-chaired one of the Bereavement Committees for over 35 years, serving families in their time of grief.  Pam along with her husband, Greg held dual membership in The Village Chapel Church of Pinehurst, North Carolina and Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel Church of Topsail Beach, North Carolina.

She loved to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, 4th of July, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, but most of all Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  She loved going to see Ira David Woods, III, production of the Christmas Carol.  Each Christmas, she came up with family games that kept everyone laughing. She loved the music of Andre Bocelli and had the opportunity to see him the last time under the stars in a Napa vineyard.  She loved attending UNC football and basketball games.  She attended two UNC basketball Final Four victories. Go Heels!

Topsail Beach was her piece of Heaven on Earth.  She made the beach house a warm and inviting place for all those who would stop by to share a glass of wine or a meal.  Pam loved to watch the dolphins swimming in the sound; she maintained a large collection of shark teeth; and she loved to watch the sunset until the “Penny went into the Bank” across the sound.  Nothing made her happier than when all her family or friends were with her at the beach house to create memories.

Pam had a large circle of friends. She was a member of the Love Thy Neighbor Bible Study of Pinehurst; a member of The Women’s Circle of First Methodist; a member of the Supper Club, Birthday Club and was an active participant with her shopping buddies who also share girl’s beach week.  Pam served on the Sampson Regional Hospital Foundation for over a decade helping to raise funds for various needs.  She was the Bookkeeper at the Griffin Law Firm and loved Denise Hendricks and Lisa Driver as sisters.  She is survived by her best friend Connie Williamson, who the family gratefully acknowledges her friendship, compassion and love.  Pam will be missed by FedEx, UPS, Prime, Amazon, US Postal Service and the Hallmark Channel for her years of dedication and support.

The family is grateful to everyone that sent cards, food, flowers, text messages, visited and had words of encouragement, prayer and support during the past 7 years of her battle with cancer.  They are many people that reflected the compassion of Jesus Christ during this journey of her life.  Thank you.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 30, 2026 at 2 o’clock pm, at First Methodist Church, 208 Sampson Street, Clinton, North Carolina to celebrate the life of Pamela Ann Norris Griffin.  After this service, the family invites everyone to a reception at Coharie County Club, Clinton, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to First Methodist Church of Clinton; The Village Chapel Church of Pinehurst, Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel of Topsail or to a church of your choice in Memory of Pamela Ann Norris Griffin dedicated to the Glory of God and Jesus Christ our Lord.
