Ola Mae Simmons Vann, 93, of 180 Southwood Drive, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Southwood Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, January 11th at Clinton City Cemetery, with Rev.  Matthew Creech and Rev. Mike Shook officiating. 

The family will be meeting at the home of her son, Jamie, at 1340 Rackley Road, Clinton, NC.

Ola, born in 1927 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Reddin Estel Simmons and Viola Guinn Simmons.  She retired from Belk’s in Clinton and also worked as the bookkeeper and co-owner with her husband of Vann’s Used Cars.  She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for many years.  She loved this church as well as Hickory Grove Baptist Church, which was her first church and held a special place in her heart.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Lee “Robin” Vann and siblings, Inez Boyette, Kathleen Boyette and Reddin Oscar Simmons. 

Survivors include: children, Angela Vann Thornton (Wayne) of Faison and Jamie Reddin Vann (Marie) of Clinton; grandchildren, Amanda Wright (David) of Faison, Leslie Alderman (Blake) of Faison, Joanna Babson (Bradley) of Shallotte and Amy Warren (Bartley) of Newton Grove; and great-grandchildren, Zannah Wright, Larkyn Alderman, Hadley Alderman, Granger Warren, Bailey Babson, and Emerson Warren.

The family would like to thank Southwood Nursing Center and Liberty Home Care and Hospice for their dedication and the love and care they provided.
