Mr. Norman Bailey Jacobs, 86 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 26, at 3 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Christopher Webb, and Rev. Ken Simmons officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of his daughter, Julia Bell.
Mr. Jacobs born in Sampson County on September 10,1938, to the late Jessie Maryland and Ida Remell Epps Jacobs and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Freda Jacobs.
After his service in the US Army, he returned home and started his career in the truck driving industry as a long haul and then local driver with Estes Trucking Company where he retired.
Norman is survived by his wife, Vivian Raines Jacobs and 2 daughters, Julia Bell (Craig) and Tina Jacobs (Jonathan). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Michael Bell (Briana), Ashley Bell (Roscoe), Scott Bell (Brittany), Kiah McCrimmon (A.J.) & Donovan McCrimmon, 8 Great Grandchildren, Mariah Bell, Mahayla Bell, Niah Torres, Jaiden Bell, Paislee Bell, Tatum McNair, Baylyn Bell & Asher Bell, siblings, Ray Jacobs, Elaine Jacobs & Jessie Leon Jacobs and a host of nieces and nephews.
