Milton Lee Dixon, Jr., “Sonny”, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, November 20th at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. E. C. Mattocks officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM – 2:45 PM at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home just before the graveside service and at other times at the home of his daughter, Joy, at 207 Glendale Drive, Clinton.
Sonny, born April 26, 1952 in Pitt County, was the son of the late Milton Lee Dixon, Sr. and Sarah Averette Dixon Shine and step-father Clement Richardson Shine. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and held several jobs. He retired from the NC Research Farm, worked many years with Correction Enterprise as a supervisor, owned the tackle shop, Hook, Line and Sinker, worked at John Deere, and also worked at Sampson Regional Medical Center security. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard Holland.
Survivors include; wife of 42 years, Patsy Jean Mattocks Dixon; daughters, Heather Wright Robinson, Joy Dixon Alderman (Cory) and Sarah Beth Dixon Holland; grandchildren, Hannah Aaron (Jake), Ethan Bunn, Toby Holland, AnnaLee Alderman, LauraLynn Alderman; great-grandson, Henry Aaron; brother, Jimmy Dixon; and sister, Debbie Maples.
