Clinton,
Mildred Wynn Puryear, 98, of 56 Hargrove Road, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Plainview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Chubby Reiber officiating. Interment service will follow in the church cemetery.
Mildred, born in 1920 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Jasper Henry Wynn and Sarah Vira Bass. She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Plainview PFWB Church. She was the last surviving charter member of the Lady’s Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Oliver Puryear, II, sister, Nettie Ray Parker, and brothers, James David Wynn, Detroit Wynn and Shelton Wynn.
Survivors include; children, Hazel Marie Bass and Harold of Wilkesboro, Geraldine Westbrook and Pete of Clinton, Brenda Autry and Johnny of Clinton, Frankie Puryear and Betty of Clinton; sister, Hazel Hardwick of Charlotte; grandchildren, Barbara Adams and James, Bryan Bass and Misty, Cynthia Jones and Gregg, Leigh Thornton and Michael, Amanda Carroll and Justin; great-grandchildren, Nick Adams and Cortney, Kayla Greene, Ava Bass, Bradley Sessoms, Taylor Sessoms, Madison McLamb, Tucker Carroll, Savannah Baggett, and Sam Thornton; great-great-grandchildren; Mason Adams, Maddie Adams, Lyndsey Greene and Kayleigh Greene.
The family would like to thank Liberty Hospice, and caregivers, Debbie Smith, Mary Avery and Carolyn Millen for their loving care and kindness shown while caring for our loved one.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
