Mildred Inez Herring, 84, of 334 Faison Road, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Turkey PFWB Church with the Rev. Michael Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Family Cemetery in Faison. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at 75 Union School Road, Turkey, NC.
Mildred, born in 1933 in Duplin County, was the daughter of the late Joe Wilson and Ollie Mae Powell Wilson. She worked in the textile industry and was a member of the Turkey Pentecostal FWB Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ray Herring and brother, Earl Wilson.
Survivors are; children, Gloria Jean Herring Howard (Michael) of Mechanicsville, VA, Vickie Herring Daw of Clinton, Leonard Ray Herring, Jr. of Turkey and Connie Herring Smith (Mike) of Turkey; grandchildren, Chrystal H. Robins, Kesha H. Cummings (Kevin), April Best (Kenneth), Lynwood Daw (Danielle), Philip Daw (Amber), Heather Jernigan (Jarrett), Cherish Smith (Terry), Amanda Edgerton (Jeremy), Reed Herring, Adam Smith, Raechel Smith, and Raegan Smith; great-grandchildren, Morgan Robins, Brenden Pope, Braxton Pope, Brooklynn Cummings, Logan Best, Libbie Best, Lucas Daw, Madison Jernigan, Mason Jernigan, Matthew Jernigan, Dawson Smith, Drake Smith, Davis Smith, Hailey Smith, Emily Edgerton, Ella Kate Edgerton and Paxton Daw; brothers and sisters, Joe Wilson, Jr. of Fayetteville, Shirley Stallings of Fayetteville, J. D.
Wilson (Connie) of Tampa, Florida, Dural Wilson (Betty) of Turkey, and Brenda Johnson (Arthur) of Fuquay Varina; and many nieces and nephews.
