Melva Marie Giddens, 67, of 120 Southwood Drive, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at Rex Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, September 17th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Waters and Rev. Stanley King officiating.  Interment will follow in the Daughtry Family Cemetery on Lockamy Road, Clinton.  The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Tuesday, September 16th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at home of her Mother at 724 Simmons Road, Clinton.

Marie, born June 1, 1958, in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Rufus Franklin Daughtry and Melva Elizabeth Wise Daughtry.  She was a Newspaper Carrier.  In addition to her father, she was preceded by her husband Bennie Giddens and by her brothers Rufus Clifton Daughtry and Gary Lynn Daughtry.

Survivors include her mother Melva Daughtry, daughter Sarah Giddens (James Boykin), siblings Joan Daughtry Reason and Sue Daughtry Spell (Ken) and grandson Dakota James Boykin.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to The American Cancer Society.
