Mrs. Melissa Kay Freeman Brewington, 57, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.

Funeral Service will be Friday, August 15, 2025, at 3 PM at New Hope Baptist Church 7857 Old Lake Rd. Bolton, NC 28423, with Rev. Howard Jacobs, Rev. Zach Jacobs and Rev. Russ Emanuel, officiating.  Burial will follow service in the church cemetery.  The family will receive family and friends beginning at 2 PM on Friday before the service and other times at her home.

Melissa was born in Robeson County on March 3, 1968, to the late Clifton Freeman, Jr and Letha Mae Jacobs Freeman and was married to Don Brewington.  Melissa was a dental assistant and a member of Olive Grove Church.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Don, a daughter, Troy Samatha Brewington, a son Cory Nathaniel Brewington (Teryn), her Grandchildren, Zayne Stewart Brewington, Rowan June Brewington and Leigh James Brewington and her siblings, Charlotte Mitchell (Jerry) of Lake Waccamaw and Neal Freeman (Mary Ann) of Bolton.
