Clinton,
Mavis Lorise Honeycutt Knowles, 85, of 736 Honeycutt Rd., passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 with her family by her side and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Monday, June 26th at Old Mill Church of God with Rev. Donnie Honeycutt and Rev. Jerry Waters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Sunday, June 25th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Mavis, born May 15, 1938 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late William Oscar Honeycutt and Angie Holland Honeycutt. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Mill Church of God. She was preceded in death by her grandson Jonathan King, and siblings Rev. J. T. Honeycutt, Elmon Honeycutt, Donnie Honeycutt, Glenwood Honeycutt and Ilene Honeycutt.
Survivors include: husband of 66 years, Franklin Matthew Knowles; children, Connie Knowles, Gary Knowles (Denise), and Angela Hart (John); grandchildren, Stephanie Norris (Daniel), Nick Bartley Spell (Evelyn), Matthew Scholl (Tiffany), Brian Scholl, Tracey Knowles (Daniel), and Bradley King (Halie); great-grandchildren, Drake Spell, Luke Norris, Alessa Spell, Kaleb Burgess, Nick Spell, Braxton Scholl, Cooper Norris, Shaniya Spell and Bladen Burgess; and sisters, Evelene Brinkley and Virginia Matthews.
