Mary "Dorcas" McLamb Obituary

Mary Dorcas Daughtry McLamb, 89, of Clinton, went home to Jesus on Sunday, June 13, 2021 while at home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at 2:00, Monday, June 14th, 2021 at Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Clay Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends at home and following the graveside service. Dorcas, born January 11, 1932, in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late John Paul Daughtry and Mary Bell Casey Daughtry.  She was co-owner of Pig Cradles, Inc.  She was a life-long member of Rowan Baptist Church, graduated Clinton High School and Hardbarger’s Business College in Raleigh.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ariel McLamb and brothers, Deloit Daughtry and Dempsey Daughtry. She is survived by 5 children: Gaye M. and Steve Clayton of Atlanta, Kenneth Deno and Cindy McLamb of Clinton, Jimmy Daniel McLamb of Clinton, Debra Ann McLamb and Tim Daly of Raleigh, and Billie Jo McLamb and David Wright of Clinton; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lovell Daughtry. Dorcas loved all of her family, all little children everywhere, her dear friends and Rowan Baptist Church. She loved to travel, anywhere and always ready to go anytime! Always willing to lend a helping hand to others, she was a blessing to her family and friends. While her family will miss her dearly, they rejoice in knowing she is now healed and singing with Jesus. The family wishes to thank her wonderful primary caregivers who lovingly cared for her as though she was their own mom, Dorothy Kraus and Debbie Smith. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rowan Baptist Church, in memory of Dorcas McLamb. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.crumpler-honeycutt.com.
