Mary Emmerlee (Matthews) Lett

Mary Emmerlee Matthews Lett, 86, of Clinton passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at her home.

A memorial service will be at 3 PM, Friday, July 24, 2026, at Crumpler Honeycutt Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Hall and Rev. Chuck Yancey, officiating.  Family will receive friends and family immediately following the service.

Mrs. Lett was born on July 19, 1940, in Sampson County to the late Archie Ernest Matthews and Annie Irene Rich Matthews and was the widow of Thomas Shelbert Lett.  She worked for years as a purchasing agent with Vann Industries in Clinton and attended Red Hill Church and Harmony Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lett is survived by her sister, Betty M Stallings (Richard) of Winston-Salem, NC., 2 nieces, several cousins, her “red hat sisters” and a host of friends that became like family to her.
