Marvin Ray Yopp, 93, of 101 Wilson Street, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Marvin born January 31, 1931 in Alamance County, Virginia, was the son of the late Armon Yopp and Annie Fitzgerald Yopp. He was a retired plumbing inspector with the City of Chesapeake. Marvin was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping. He also enjoyed distributing “Pocket Bibles”. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: daughter, Tina Jones and husband Dave; sons, Charles Yopp and wife Mary and Lawrence Yopp; Marvins wife, Martha Virginia Yopp from Appomattox, VA; stepdaughters, Teresa Franklin, Laverne B. Hamlett and Shelby Lamberth; grandchildren, Christopher Gore and wife Cassy, Renee Salazar and husband Camilo, Brian Smith, Bethany and husband Julio Rafanini, Josh Yopp and Amy Ford; special great-grandchildren, Michael Herring, Jr. and Tamra Williams; and great-grandchildren, Ayva Gore, Aeron Gore, Adam Yopp, Tucker Dawson and Brody Moore.
The family will receive friends from 5 PM – 7PM, Thursday, January 30th night at the home (101 Wilson Street, Clinton) and again Friday night January 31st from 5 PM – 7 PM at the home. No services planned.
