Martha Ann Byrd, 73, 907 Warren Street, passed away Friday, April 5, 2024 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM, Monday, April 8th at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Clay Carter officiating.  The family will receive friends at the gravesite 30 minutes before the service.

Martha, born September 25, 1950 in Duplin County, was the daughter of the late Edward Ira Whaley and Evelyn Louise Herring Whaley.  She worked with the Clinton City Schools as a Cafeteria Worker.  Martha was a member of the Spirit of Life Church in Clinton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Junior Byrd, Jr and brother Earl Whaley.

Survivors include: son, Edward Joseph “Joey” Byrd (Michelle); grandson, Kevin Byrd; and siblings, Annette Sullivan, Mike Whaley and Velma Gautier.
