Marie Elizabeth Tyndall, 79, of 239 Beaverdam Road, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Southwood Nursing Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 21st at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Hairr officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.

Marie, born May 3, 1945 in Durham County, was the daughter of the late Leamon Thompson and Pearl Smith Thompson.  She retired from Smithfield Foods.  She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, a master gardener and a member of the Gideons.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Armon Holt Tyner, sister Ellen Player and brother Shearl Thompson.

Survivors include; husband of 21 years, Nelson Tyndall; children, Connie Pearson (Mark), Ronnie Tyner (Betsy) and Danny Tyner (Betty Jo); seven grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
