Margaret Marie Tew Honeycutt, “Patsy”, 96 of 40 Payton Daniels Road passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Southwood Nursing Center of Clinton, NC, with her beloved family by her side.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, July 6th, at Old Mill Church of God with Rev. Donnie Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Saturday, July 5th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Margaret was born in Sampson County, NC, to James Ransome Tew and Nettie Eliza Jackson Tew. Margaret was given the nickname of Patsy as a small child by her uncle and it stuck with her throughout her life, many friends and loved ones only knowing her as “Patsy”. She was a home maker and a charter member of The Old Mill Church of God.
She is survived by: sons, Elmon Keith Honeycutt and wife Annette, Tommy Lee Honeycutt and wife Mary, Michael Earl Honeycutt and wife Cathy; daughter, Mary Honeycutt Naylor and husband Chase; brother, Homer Lee Tew and wife Edna; sister-in-law, Evelene Honeycutt Brinkley; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Oscar Elmon Honeycutt, daughter, Brenda Kay Honeycutt, brothers, Willie Claxton Tew, Dalmer Mason Tew and sisters, Eleanor Tew, Lucille Tew Faircloth and Christine Tew Knoll.
The family would like thank Southwood Nursing and Rehab and Liberty Hospice for the special care given to their Mother in her last days. We will be forever grateful.
